The Federal Network Agency reported that the newly installed photovoltaic capacity reached 780 MW in January, while the installed solar capacity in January 2022 was 420 MW.
With the support of the National Feed-In Tariff Plan (FIT), the main driver of the photovoltaic power generation market remains the sub-300kW photovoltaic system. The total capacity of systems of this scale installed by developers over the last year was approximately 526.5 MW.
By the end of January this year, the cumulative photovoltaic power generation capacity in Germany reached 68.2 GW, and the total number of projects was 2.7 million. Bavaria is the federal state with the largest photovoltaic installation capacity in Germany with a total capacity of 18.8 GW, followed by Baden-Württemberg with a total capacity of 8.37 GW and North Rhine-Westphalia with a total capacity of around 7.7 GW.
The on-grid electricity price is no longer adjusted based on the electricity production in the previous months. The on-grid electricity price will remain unchanged until the end of January 2024. Depending on the size of the system, the electricity price varies between 0.0620 euros (0.0658 dollars) per kilowatt and 0.1340 euros per kilowatt hour.
